Prastia is the culmination of years of labor on Chios, Greece. Chios is a small island located in the Aegean Sea, four miles off the coast of Turkey. The Greek historian Theopompus references Chian wine as the first red wine, which was then referred to as “black wine”. Praised throughout ancient Greece, Chian wine was also served at banquets and lavish feasts in ancient Rome.
Taste Profile: Dry red wine offering floral and spice aromas, firm tannins and a nice minerality. Vibrant, juicy, red fruit (cherry, strawberry) with earthy undertones.
Pairs with: Roasted meats, pulled pork, barbecue and game with sauces and traditional picnic fare.
